Step 1: The channel must be eligible to enable monetization
- Have more than 1,000 subscribers.
- There are more than 4,000 hours of valid public watch time in the last 12 months.
- There are no active Community Guidelines strikes on your channel.
- Must enable 2-step security verification

After you meet the 4 conditions to enable monetization above, YouTube will send you a notification email to register to join YouTube’s partner program by accessing the Monetization section in YouTube Studio to register.

After submitting your application, YouTube staff will review and evaluate whether your channel is eligible to join YouTube’s partners and enable monetization. This review is entirely by real people and because YouTube’s review staff cannot check every video, they will probably focus mainly on the main content on your channel as follows:
- Main topics
- Most viewed videos
- Newest videos
- Largest watch time
- Video metadata (including title, thumbnail, and description).
According to YouTube’s announcement, it usually takes 1 month to complete the review process, but in reality, it only takes 1 session or a few days for YouTube to send a reply email. For my channel, because it did not violate copyright or YouTube’s policies, it only took 1 day to receive a letter congratulating me on becoming a partner and agreeing to enable monetization.

Step 2: Connect to your Google Adsense account
After you are accepted by YouTube as a partner, the next step is to connect to your Google Adsense account to receive payment. YouTube only allows each user to have a single Google Adsense account. If you already have a Google Adsense account, please link to the channel. If you do not have a Google Adsense account, you can create an account according to the instructions.

According to Google policy, when your account earns $10, Google will send you an email notification requesting identity verification to receive payments from Google Adsense. However, in reality, it’s less than $10 and Google has already sent a request email.

In this section, you will need to provide additional information along with a photo of a valid government-issued photo identification document, such as an ID card, passport, or driver’s license. To successfully verify your identity, you need to pay attention to the following two issues:
The information you enter must exactly match the information on your identification document.
The image of the identification document containing the photo needs to be sharp, have all 4 corners, be easy to read, and not be reflective or glare.
You need to be careful and pay special attention to this part because Google Adsense only limits you to 3 times uploading identification documents. Therefore, if you submit a photo that is not guaranteed, the request will be rejected, resulting in the account’s identity being unable to be verified.
Google Adsense verifies your identity not as a real person but with AI artificial intelligence technology. Therefore, to check whether the photo of your identification document meets the quality requirements, go to Google’s Vision AI application to check. This is the way Google uses to read images and information on your identification documents.

After preparing the documents and checking that they meet the requirements, log in to your Google Adsense account to upload photos of documents for verification.
Step 4: Upload your identification documents to GA
After verifying your identity, Google will respond with results. If it’s slow, it will take 1 to a few days. If it’s fast, Google will send an email notification of successful identity verification after a few minutes.

After you successfully verify your identity, Google will send an email to verify your address to receive payment by sending a PIN code to your actual address. In the following section, I will show you how to verify the address to receive the PIN code successfully.
After successfully verifying your identity, the next step is that you need to change the address in the payment information section so that Google will send the PIN code to you to verify the address to receive payment from Google Adsense. Step 6: Set up payment information address
- Address line 1: Please enter the exact address where you currently live. You must enter this address in detail and clearly so that the postman can send the letter back.
- Address line 2: Please enter: Call me this number: 0989.89.85.89. Please replace it with your phone number. This line is quite important because this is how the postman can contact you in the fastest way to receive mail.
- City: Enter the district or district where you currently reside.
- Province: Province or city where you currently reside.
- Postal code: Is the postal code of the district/district in which you currently reside. To know the postal code, you can Google search: Postal code + District.
- Phone number: Please enter the correct phone number you are using.
After changing the information, click save. Google will send you an email notifying you that it will send you a PIN code to verify your address.

Google announced that it would take 3 weeks to receive the PIN code, but in reality, it will be much sooner if you declare the address information and postal code clearly and accurately as instructed above, like my channel it only takes 4 days. Then you just need to go to the payment section -> Verify and enter the PIN code in the letter and you’re done
